ActiveTwo API for MATLABĀ®

Application programming interface between MATLAB and the Biosemi ActiveTwo physiological data acquisition system

The ActiveTwo API for MATLAB®  is a programming interface to allow MATLAB developers to capture live data directly from ActiveTwo with low latency and minimal overhead.  It has a very sophisticated design, requiring no toolboxes and allowing you to edit code on the fly as you run the application.  An integrated device simulator permits off-line development.  A built-in data quality check alerts you of data integrity problems.

The API provides a developer a comprehensive set of function calls to access any part of the data header or the live data stream from an ActiveTwo system running locally. API functions utilize function calls directly to the ActiveTwo device driver. Supports mk1 and mk2 hardware/firmware. Supports both the original ActiveTwo USB driver and the latest ActiveTwo drivers with dynamic packet size and 32-/64-bit support for Windows XP, Vista and 7.

Highlights

  • Direct interface to USB device driver
  • No toolboxes required
  • Edit code as your application runs
  • Device simulator for off-line development
  • Multi-parameter data quality alert
  • Very low latency, minimal overhead

Applications

Describe the type of end users and application(s) addressed by your product: The ActiveTwo API for MATLAB® is designed for moderately skilled to advanced developers of MATLAB code for signal processing of physiological data such as EEG, ECG / EKG, EMG, EOG, skin conductance, respiration, plethysmography, temperature and other sensors supported by ActiveTwo. The intended use is basic or applied science, R&D or product development.
